Our much loved Carnarvonshire Welsh dresser was sympathetically restored and repaired by Brian James Antiques and we are delighted with the end result. Our dresser, now is in fantastic condition but has retained the glow and patina you would expect from a 250 year old piece of furniture. Brian is a skilled craftsman with an encyclopedic knowledge of his subject. Our Welsh dresser has been in my wife’s family since it was new, time had taken its toll on the piece, and in addition my wife’s grandfather painted the plate racks black when Queen Victoria died in 1901. Brian overcame these and other problems to bring our dresser back to life and in doing so was able to reveal some original hidden features of which we were unaware. During the restoration he sent us frequent pictures of the work in progress and we were able to visit his well equipped workshops to view progress and see at first hand some of the original features as they were uncovered.
